Why we record
Images captured by the video surveillance system are processed to:
- protect the property of the hotel, its guests and its staff;
- ensure the safety of persons on the premises;
- establish and evidence incidents, including in dealings with law enforcement or insurers.
The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest under art. 5(1)(f) of Law no. 195/2024 on the protection of personal data.
Recordings are not used to monitor staff performance.

Indoor cameras record on motion detection. Perimeter cameras record continuously.
There are no cameras in guest rooms, bathrooms, changing areas or staff rest areas.
What data is processed
Images only. Audio is not recorded.
Who has access
Access to recordings is limited to the hotel director. The recording equipment is kept in a restricted-access location.
Recordings may be viewed remotely by the director through the system manufacturer’s mobile application.
Recordings may be disclosed to law enforcement, courts or insurers on request and on a legal basis.
How long we keep recordings
30 days from the date of recording, after which they are automatically deleted. Recordings that constitute evidence in an incident may be kept longer, until the matter is resolved.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access data concerning you;
- rectification;
- erasure;
- restriction of processing;
- object to processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
To exercise these rights, write to info@hotel-libra.com. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.
To request access to a recording, state the date, approximate time and location. The request must be made within the 30-day retention period. We may ask you to prove your identity before acting on it.
Right to complain
If you consider that the processing of your data breaches the law, you may lodge a complaint with:
